Kelle EST Belle DKS
(Kannan-Cassini I-Lansing)
Born June 2020
FILLY
This foal born 2020 is out of Beauté de la Vie DKS, by Kannan. One of the first DKS mares, scopey Beaute, crossed with Kannan…this foal is sure to have power!
Beauté de la Vie DKS (Cassini x Lansing) is a tall, eye-catching premium Holsteiner mare. The mother of Beaute, Sofia I (Lansing x Cor de la Bryere), is a full sister to approved stallion Lancelot Quainton, and her father is the legendary Cassini I (Capitol I x Calleto II), a horse that represented two countries, Denmark and Germany, with two different riders at the highest level. As a sire, Cassini I produced some of the best horses in the world of show-jumping, including Cumano and Eurocommerce Berlin. As a foal, Beauté de la Vie DKS suffered a serious injury, but we did try her in sport, just to see her natural inclination, before deciding on dedicating her to breeding. She competed through 1.25 m at age 5 and despite some muscle damage and scarring she had as a result of her injury, this modern mare demonstrated an incredible courage and power, traits that we look for in our breeding philosophy. Having thus qualified for our breeding program, elegant Beaute gave us four wonderful foals. The first was Mostar DKS (aka Drago 123), a remarkably beautiful colt by Darco that was qualified for the Bundeschampionat as a 5 yo and after sold at the ESI Auction in Germany for 22500 EURO. The second was Kasalla DKS, by Casall, an extraordinary pretty filly born in 2017 and sold at FENCES. Beauté de la Vie DKS continued to produce very chic-looking foals for us. In 2018 she had a stunning colt by Diamant de Semillly, Ivanin DKS, and in 2019 a strapping filly, again by Diamant de Semilly, J’aime la Vie DKS.
The sire, Kannan (Voltaire x Nimmerdor) was ranked #1 for 2014, #2 in 2015 and 2013, and consistently within the TOP20 of the best showjumping sires ever since. In terms of genetics, Kannan shows a pedigree full of major legends like Nimmerdor, Voltaire and Le Mexico, horses that have significantly influenced modern showjumping. A tall, rangy stallion, Kannan brings power, movement and scope. His offspring are appreciated worldwide for their exceptional talent, balance, great willingness, kind temperament and their ability to react. Successful in his sporting career, he was Belgian Champion in 1999, at 7 years old. Kannan won his first Grand Prix at the age of eight, with Michel Hécart, and this was just the first of many. He was a regular member of the French team which won the Samsung Super League in 2003 and 2004. In 2005 he was French National Champion and competed at the European Championships in San Patrignano. As a sire, he had even more success, producing several hundred top level showjumpers, headed by the Olympic Champion 2012, Nino des Buissonnets (Kannan x Narcos II). With rider Steve Guerdat, after winning numerous Grand Prix’s and becoming the World cup vice-champion twice, Nino nearly got another Olympic medal in Rio 2016, where he finished fourth. Kannan was represented at those games by two more horses, Quorida de Treho and Quabri de l’Isle, and has sired other top-level horses, the likes of Diva II, Ben Maher’s 2015 EC ride and Molly Malone V, who helped launch Irish showjumper Bertram Allen’s career, representing Ireland at WEG 2014 and taking third place at the 2015 World Cup final in Las Vegas.
So...we expect a foal of big, but modern frame and great power, with excellent rideability!
